Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
MAC Address Identifier performs lookups against a registry stored on this server. Searches are not sent to an external lookup API.
1. Who operates this service
The deployment operator is responsible for the processing described here. Questions, privacy requests, and operator-identification requests can be submitted through the TotalBits contact page.
2. Information we process
- Operational information: timestamps, application startup and shutdown events, registry update status, validation failures, and technical errors.
- Connection information: the hosting platform or reverse proxy may process standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, requested path, and timing. MAC Address Identifier does not intentionally add this information to its application log.
3. Why we process it
Information is used to provide lookup results, maintain and secure the application, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and keep the local IEEE dataset current. Where applicable, the operator relies on its legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service, except where another legal basis is required.
4. Sharing and external services
Search addresses are resolved locally and are not sent to IEEE or another lookup provider. The application contacts IEEE only to download public registry datasets; search terms are not included in those requests. Infrastructure, hosting, security, or support providers selected by the operator may process technical data as necessary to provide their services.
5. Cookies and tracking
MAC Address Identifier does not include advertising trackers. Essential technical storage may be used to maintain secure sessions, protect requests, and operate the site. Links to external websites are governed by their own privacy practices.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Submit a request through the contact page. The operator may need enough information to locate the relevant record and verify the request.
7. Changes
This policy may be updated when the service, its logging, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
